NFL QB's Miss America revelation, Aaron Rodgers watched Miss America, but hasn’t called her. Laura Kaeppeler asked Aaron Rodgers to call her when she was introduced at the pageant. It turns out that Aaron Rodgers was watching the Miss America pageant on Saturday night, and heard about Miss Wisconsin/Miss America Laura Kaeppeler asking him to call her. While relaxing at the Green Bay Packers' team hotel the night before his team lost to the Giants, Rodgers said that he was watching Saturday's AFC playoff game when he received texts about Kaeppeler saying, "Call me, Aaron Rodgers," when she was introduced.

"So eventually I clicked over," Rodgers said [to ESPN Radio], "and actually I clicked over when it was down to the top five and was amazed as it went four, she's still up there. Three, she's still up there. Two, she's still up there. Is she really going to win this thing? And then, sure enough, she did. So I've got to give her a lot of credit for that. That's quite an accomplishment. A whole year of getting to do all of that Miss America stuff. That's exciting for Wisconsin, the one bright spot over the weekend.

"I have not talked to her, but am excited for her."

If Kaeppeler never gets her call from Rodgers, she still must smile at the image of Rodgers watching her get crowned. My heart is warmed by the idea of the likely MVP being riveted by the Miss America contest the night before his biggest game of the season.

It's just a shame that the MVP awards aren't announced like a beauty pageant. Just imagine Drew Brees and Rodgers standing at the center of a stage, holding hands and congratulating each other, and then Rodgers breaking down in tears when the crown is put on his head.
