Why would anybody 'threaten' Kim Kardashian?
Why would anybody 'threaten' Kim Kardashian? - Hype just follows poor Kim Kardashian around. The latest kerfluffle for the "never-mind" bride is the breathless reporting about whether she's received death threats on the set of the movie she's working on with filmmaker Tyler Perry in Atlanta.
On Friday, the website MediaTakeOut.com shouted that security on the set of The Marriage Counselor is "EXTRA HEAVY" because producers had received "credible" death and kidnapping threats directed at Kardashian.
Now The Hollywood Reporter says it's not true, citing an unnamed rep for Kardashian, whose 72-day marriage to basketballer Kris Humphries collapsed last week in an avalanche of embarassing publicity for all concerned.
Humphries, by the way, has just hired his own divorce attorney, according to TMZ.
Kardashian started work on Perry's new movie this week, cast as Ava, best friend and co-worker to the heroine, Judith, played by Friday Night Lights' Jurnee Smollett.
The casting did not go over well with everyone, judging from comments on Perry's website, and from a jokey jab by Holly Robinson Peete. "We can always count on Tyler Perry to give a 'blacktress' a job," Peete joked to THR. "So, all across the world 'blacktresses' are upset" about Kardashian's hiring.
On Perry's website, "Jo" wrote in to express disappointment. "When an actress like Kim K is in your film I don't understand it. Not just because she got divorced in 72 days. People make mistakes. But, when you look at her career, her television shows, sex tapes, posing nude, cover of Playboy - I don't understand how that works with your aesthetics."
Despite all this, THR quoted studio sources as saying that Kardashian has been low-key and agreeable on the set, and there have been no threats to her safety. And Perry confirmed to TMZ he isn't dumping her.
