Tiger Woods: Williams apologized for slur
Tiger Woods: Williams apologized for slur - Tiger Woods says that former caddie Steve Williams has apologized to him over the use of a racial slur.
The men met and shook hands Tuesday at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney, site of this weekend's Australian Open.
Williams made the inappropriate comment during a caddies' award party last week.
Woods called it "hurtful" but said that Williams is not a racist. He did not delve further into the pair’s strained relationship.
Williams, who now serves as Adam Scott's full-time caddie, toted Woods' bag during a remarkable run during the 2000s before he was fired by the former world No. 1 player last year.
