How cheeky Pippa Middleton won over her teachers - Pippa Middleton was a 'naughty’ pupil who managed to avoid punishment, claims one of her friends at boarding school. Pippa Middleton’s family decline to comments on reports that she has split up with her boyfriend, the former cricketer Alex Loudon, but one of her schoolfriends is less discreet about her mischievous past.

Gabby Young, a musician, who attended Marlborough College with the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, tells Mandrake: “I was in loads of classes with Pippa. We were quite naughty, actually, always winding up the teachers.”

Miss Middleton was, however, an expert at avoiding punishment at the boarding school. “The teachers were always blaming me for leading her astray,” says Young.

“Pippa was never too affected. Unlike me, she was incredibly sporty, but we found a middle ground and got on really well. And the boys loved her, of course.”

She adds: “In many ways, the Middletons are just what this country needs. Catherine is her own person, with her own ideas. It’s really quite inspirational.”
