Dog survives after being stabbed 21 times - A pet dog which was stabbed 21 times and left to die after the barbaric attack has survived after a surgery. Dempsey, a Staffordshire bull terrier, was found just in time and rushed to a hospital. It had injuries to its pancreas and diaphragm, The Sun reported.

Owner Claire Wilkinson said the dog was staying with her 19-year-old daughter Lauren in Bournemouth, Dorset, 138 km from London.

The girl's flat was ransacked and there was a trail of blood through it.

Neighbours searched for the dog and found it in a nearby garden.

Police were called and they took the dog for emergency treatment. The pet is now recovering at Claire's house. Police have launched a manhunt for the attackers.
