Lady Gaga sends anti-bullying video to student - Lady Gaga sent a personalized video (see below) to a high school student council president who had sought help with an anti-bullying assembly he was hosting. Jacques St. Pierre, 17, a senior at Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, who had been a victim of bullying when he was younger, received an e-mail with a subject line that said, “To Jacques from Lady Gaga,” the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported.

The e-mail included a video in which she praises him personally for his efforts to combat bullying, especially against gays and lesbians.

St. Pierre told CBC that he had been bullied in elementary school because he liked to participate in class plays. “I lost my best friend because he joined in with the bullies. It's not fun, I've been there, I've been bullied,” he said.

This school year he decided to hold an assembly at school and encourage other students to pledge not to bully others. He sent messages to a number of celebrities requesting their assistance, and Gaga got back to him via e-mail.

Gaga has been a loud advocate for anti-bullying efforts and announced earlier this month that she would launch a nonprofit foundation called Born This Way dealing with youth self-empowerment and issues related to bullying. She is getting assistance from Harvard University, the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and the California Endowment.

In the video to the student, Gaga says in part:

“I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you for being such a strong advocate of the LGBT community in your school,” she said. “There should be more little monsters like you.”
